Bart studied Dutch law and philosophy at Leiden University. In 1992 he joined NautaDutilh, where he worked until 2001, initially in the areas of insolvency law, and construction and real estate law. Since then, he has specialised in company law (corporate litigation), health law, privacy law and sports law. As well as having experience in general litigation practice, Bart has extensive experience in arbitrations, such as with the Dutch Arbitration Institute, the Court of Arbitration for Healthcare, the Arbitration Board for the Construction Industry, the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) and FIFA. The subjects of the disputes include shareholders' interests, trade contracts, physician-hospital agreements and (unsuccessful) football transfers. In the field of health law, Bart deals with issues relating to medical disciplinary rules and medical liability, as well as partnership conflicts and disputes related to hospital mergers. Bart is a member of the Dutch Health Law Association and the Dutch Sports Law Association. He is also registered as an arbitrator with the Dutch Arbitration Institute.
