Petra graduated from Amsterdam University in 1992 in Dutch law and legal and public administration. From 1992 to 1999 she worked for NautaDutilh. She then worked as an in-company lawyer and legal counsel for the international waste company Shanks Nederland B.V. in Rotterdam. In 2004 she completed a Grotius specialist course in Environmental and Spatial Planning Law. Petra focuses mainly on matters involving government bodies, such as environmental and spatial planning law, waste substances law, liability law (unlawful government acts), life sciences, emission allowance trading, and civil servants law. In addition, Petra is specialised in employment law. In 2006 she completed a post academic Course Employment Law. She is also a member of the Association of Environmental Lawyers, the Association for Administrative Law (VAR), and an active member of the Rotterdam Environmental Lawyers.
